UH Architecture Retrofit Lecture

The University of Hertfordshire Architecture programme, led by Head of Architecture and Design and Associate Professor in Research Dr Luigi Pintacuda and Senior Lecturer & Programme Leader Thomas Trail, invited Don’t Waste Buildings co-founder, Richard Nelson, to deliver a lecture about the group and its work to the 3rd year BArch class on October 28th.

Approximately 40 students and faculty of the BArch programme, as well as a few MArch students and faculty, attended to learn about DWB’s approach to campaigning the UK government to implement a national ‘retrofit first’ policy.

It was encouraging to see the interest and passion from the students in renovation and retrofit, and Richard may have even influenced one or two to forge a future career as a ‘Retrofit Rockstar’!

Don’t Waste Buildings hopes to join up with the UH Architecture students and faculty again for future lectures, and perhaps even a research project – watch this space.
