DWB launches South West Chapter

Nick James, the new South West Chapter Lead for Don’t Waste Buildings

A great start to 2026 as Nick James joins Don’t Waste Buildings as our new Chapter Lead for the South West UK, where he will be co-ordinating and leading on projects across Bristol, Bath and the region.

Nick is an experienced sustainability practitioner with over 25 years of expertise in the sustainable property industry, specialising in carbon strategy, pro-social impact and the circular economy.

As the Founding Director of Futureground, he has a proven track record of bridging the gap between large-scale infrastructure and community social value, delivering innovative low-carbon solutions and ESG strategies for diverse organisations and varied places and change projects.

Most recently, as a co-founder of insight-space, he has pioneered the use of LiDAR and 3D digital twin technology to unlock the potential of underused buildings, supporting retrofit and sustainable building management. This professional expertise is deeply rooted in his personal commitment to reuse, evidenced by his role as Chair of Trustees for Bath Share & Repair - a charity running 10 regular Repair Cafes and Library of Things across Bath and North East Somerset.

If you would like to get involved in tours or advocacy for Don't Waste Buildings, please connect with Nick via LinkedIn, or email us at info@dontwastebuildings.com.

  • Leanne Tritton (co-founder) - London

  • Sarah Worth - Midlands

  • Lauren Teague - North

  • Hannah Durden - Scotland
