NPPF Consultation Response Submitted

Last week, we submitted our response (click to download, or see below) to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government's consultation on the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), written by our co-founder Will Hurst.

We were also fortunate to have expert guidance from our illustrious member, Estelle Dehon KC, Barrister at Cornerstone Barristers.

We welcome the proposal’s emphasis on the reuse & retrofit of existing buildings in the latest draft.

However, the wording must go further in order to create a clear policy hierarchy between demolition & reuse. That will aid clarity & support the transition to a low-carbon built environment.

If you agree with our proposal, we need your help to ensure the message is heard. Please get in touch with any suggestions, or contact your MP to voice your support.
