DWB Attends Circularity in Practice Launch

On Monday, 16th March, Don’t Waste Buildings Co-Founder, Leanne Tritton, had the privilege of visiting the Renew Hub in Manchester for the launch of the Circularity in Practice (CIP) initiative, where she had the honour of meeting His Majesty King Charles III, a long-standing and deeply committed advocate for reuse and climate-conscious thinking.

CIP is a practical initiative designed to actively help SMEs share not just ideas, but real, actionable solutions for reusing materials that pass through our buildings every day: Copper wire. Ceiling tiles. Furniture. Lighting. If it exists — it can be reused.

CIP is about turning circularity from a concept into a daily habit.

Backed by a distinguished group of leaders and with clear support from the King, the initiative is now calling on businesses of all sizes to step up and take the pledge.

Don’t Waste Buildings has signed, and many in our network will want to do the same. Find out more and become a Signatory HERE.

Further details:

Inspired by His Majesty King Charles III, Circularity in Practice is a new, nationwide, voluntary programme that brings businesses together to accelerate circularity in the places where we live and work.

The initiative encourages organisations to design out waste and prioritise reuse, high-quality recycling, remanufacturing and repurposing across the built environment and wider economy.

A core group of signatories will lead the programme, promoting education, sharing best practice, encouraging cross-sector collaboration, and highlighting commercially viable circular models. Leading UK organisations including:

  • Sir Robert McAlpine

  • JLL

  • Orms

  • McGee

  • Great Portland Estates plc

  • Tata Steel UK

  • EMR

  • Rype Office

  • SUEZ

  • Therme

  • Pineapple Partnerships

  • SAS International

  • Saint-Gobain

  • Recolight

  • 18 Degrees

  • Alandale Group

  • Don’t Waste Buildings

  • Excess Materials Exchange

  • British Chambers of Commerce

These organisations have already supported the initiative, alongside many other regional SMEs.

Together with the initiative as a whole, these organisations demonstrate how collaboration can help drive meaningful progress towards a more circular economy.
